So long SoCal!!!

We are outta here!!!

After months of living in limbo we are finally putting Plan B into place. Bechtel is laying us off and we are packing up and moving to Wyoming. Up until a week ago nothing was set in stone. In true Bechtel fashion, everything was put together last minute... the movers were lined up, the papers signed and we are now packed in the truck like sardines, giving LA the bird through the rearview mirror... so long stink town ( to quote the great Homer J).

The real beauty of this is that none of our friends in Wyo know about our impending relocation. They will either squeal with shocked glee at our arrival or stare blankly at us like the dog who finally catches the car after the daily chase... we are hoping the former.

First stop will be the beautiful City by the Bay where all this wackiness started in the first place. After some visiting, its off to the “Yamboy” to pack up the house. Then in the middle of packing we are all flying to Illinois for Thanksmas... the convergence of holidays into one to accommodate the widespread geographical nature of our family. Kinda like Festivus.

After Thanksmas, its back to packing up the giant U-haul. Then a caravan half way across the states in December with two moody kids, a neurotic canine, two exhausted parents and my mom to supervise.

God willing we will survive to write about it... maybe even make it into a movie on Lifetime.
